Expand your osteopathic skills with a deeper understanding of the central nervous system through Introduction to Osteopathy in the Cranial Field. Learn about the anatomy and physiology of the cranium and its inter-relationship with the body as a whole, and how this method may be applied for the prevention and treatment of disease and enhancement of health. The OCA has developed a new hybrid format for this course that allows us to offer it with COVID-19 safety precautions. The hybrid course has two components:
Course Director: Richard F. Smith, DO
- Virtual Lectures and Group Discussions: Lectures will be presented online, with 4.5 hours of video recordings delivered each week beginning Nov. 9. At the end of each week, participants will join in a mandatory hour-long discussion group via Zoom on Nov. 15, Nov. 22, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13.
- Regional In-Person Labs: The hand-over-hand training for which the OCA is well known will be held in small groups regionally. The Lab portion of your course will take place over a three-day weekend in February or March 2021. (If you need to cancel the Lab due to COVID-19 or any other reason, and cannot take a Lab by the end of 2021, you will be refunded $600, [$400 students/residents].) Lab sites and exact times/dates are being confirmed now. Possible locations include: Northern California (San Francisco), San Diego, Long Island (NYC), Orlando and Dallas/Fort Worth. The labs will be similar to those at previous Introductory Courses, with hands-on instruction by experienced trainers.
