This course will explore how the midlines starts the organization of form and function in the embryo, and how it continues to do so through out the entire lifespan. In addition, it will further explore a posterior midline most associated with the central nervous system, and an anterior midline associated with the gut tube, both of which are organized around a central core midline of infinite potential. The course emphasizes the midline as a dynamic function, and established by forces and motions that exist prior to any anatomical structure.
This is a hands-on practical course, with 2-3 hours of lab for each hour of lecture. The sensory emphasis is on function and lab exercises will give experiences applicable to clinical practice.
The OCA has applied for 21 hours of Category 1-A AOA CME and for 21 hours of CME from the AAFP. This intermediate course requires 2 OCA-approved Introductory courses as prerequisites.
