The Osteopathic Cranial Academy (OCA) welcomes new members. All applicants for membership must have successfully completed an approved 40-hour introductory course in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field.  Currently, introductory courses from OCA, the Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation, and Osteopathy’s Promise to Children are approved.  Some introductory classes given at individual colleges of osteopathic medicine (COM) are approved for COM students only.

REGULAR MEMBERS

US-licensed Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) are eligible to become regular members of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy. Regular members are also required to be members of the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), as the Osteopathic Cranial Academy is a component society under these organizations.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

US-licensed Medical professionals holding MD, DDS, or DMD degree are eligible to become associate members of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy.

AFFILIATE MEMBERS

Elliot 1Osteopaths trained in countries other than the United States are eligible to become affiliate members of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy, as long as they are a member in good standing of an Affiliate Society recognized by the Osteopathic Cranial Academy in their home country or province.

Doctors of Medicine (MDs) licensed in countries other than the United States are also welcome to become affiliate members of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy. To be eligible for affiliate membership, they must hold an unlimited licensure to practice medicine in the country where they reside and be eligible for licensure in the United States.

STUDENT MEMBERS

Student members are always welcome. Student members must be enrolled in any US accredited osteopathic (DO) or allopathic (MD) college of medicine.

  1. Membership in The American Academy of Osteopathy,
  2. Application made on a Prescribed Form
  3. Endorsement by two regular members of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy
  4. Successful completion of an approved 40-hour introductory course in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field
  5. Payment of appropriate dues

  1. Application made on a Prescribed Form
  2. Endorsement by two regular members of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy
  3. Successful completion of an approved 40-hour introductory course in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field
  4. Payment of appropriate dues

  1. Membership (in good standing) of their Affiliate Society (recognized by the Osteopathic Cranial Academy) in the country or province in which they practice osteopathy
  2. Application made on a Prescribed Form
  3. Recommendation by one regular member of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy
  4. Successful completion of an approved 40-hour introductory course in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field
  5. Payment of appropriate dues

Doctors of Medicine or Dentistry trained in countries other than the United States are welcome to become affiliate members of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy. Requirements for affiliate membership include:

  1. Unlimited licensure to practice medicine in the country where they reside and eligibility for licensure in the United States
  2. Application made on a Prescribed Form
  3. Recommendation by one regular member
  4. Successful completion of an 40-hour approved introductory course in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field
  5. Payment of appropriate dues
